Read Bio

Bill Jenkin III and his wife Terri joined with Continental Baptist Missions as missionary church planters in 1983—their ties to the Mission, however, run much deeper. Both Bill and Terri came to know Christ through the ministry of a CBM mission church, and in a sense are second-generation missionaries themselves, following in the footsteps of their spiritual “parents.” After joining the Mission, the Jenkins considered church planting in their home state of Montana, but God saw fit to lead them elsewhere. For over 21 years, by His grace, Bill and Terri had the privilege of establishing and nurturing four churches to graduation in the Sunshine State of Florida. In the winter of 2004, Bill stepped into the newly created office of Vice President and Director of Church Relations for CBM, a position which gave him the opportunity to represent the Mission and share what God was doing through North American church planting efforts. In May of 2006, Rev. Jenkin accepted the call to become CBM’s sixth president and continues to serve in this capacity, ministering to the needs of CBM missionaries and the local church alike.

Executive Secretary

Read Bio

The Lord’s leading in bringing Linda to CBM is a unique one—it all started with an email that looked like spam. During 2003, Linda’s route to work took her past the CBM home office building in Rockford, MI, which was then under construction. Thinking it would be a nice place to work, she submitted her resume twice by mail—it was returned to her due to an incorrect zip code. She sent it one more time and several months later received an email from a sender she did not recognize (G. Webber). Her first response was to delete the email, but curiosity got the better of her. In her words, “…since September 2004, I have been blessed in so many ways. I know that God placed me here at CBM for growth and support at a time in my life when I needed it most.” Linda is the Executive Secretary for the home office; she has the privilege to serve the Administrative staff, Board members, and Mission family in whatever way she can.

Read Bio

Mike was led to the Lord as Savior in 1954 by his mother following a convicting lesson by a dear Sunday School teacher at Wealthy Park Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, MI. He first entered service with CBM as a TeamCBM Nehemiah volunteer builder, working in an on-call capacity to prepare church drawings. In the spring of 2004, while attending a church building dedication, he came under conviction that part-time service was not where the Lord wanted he and his wife, Pam. In June of 2004, the DeGroots applied for full-time service with CBM as missionary builders. They continue to be a faithful part of their sending church, Dorr (MI) Baptist Church, where Mike serves as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Music Director.

With their children, Isaiah and Leanna, the Oetkens traveled in a 40′ fifth wheel trailer across the United States constructing churches and serving alongside CBM church planters until the year 2000. Paul transitioned into the home office about 2 years after the birth of their daughter, Arianna, because of her health and medical needs. Paul continues his work in the building ministry, drawing blueprints and building design in a computer-based CAD program. He also lends a skilled hand to woodworking projects for mission churches and the home office. The Oetkens serve the Lord faithfully at Ashley Baptist Church in Belding, MI.
